Wheke

I have been learning to make and justify inferences.  We read a story called Wheke.  Here is my reading reflection and evidence.

The three fat giraffes

The Three Fat Giraffes

                                      

Once upon a time in a land of peace there were three fat giraffes.  One was a fat mother giraffe, one was a fat baby giraffe and one was a fat dad giraffe.  They all lived together.

One morning mother giraffe said to her children, “make your own sweet house to live in because I am leaving.”  So they built their houses.  

One stormy night an evil space-ship landed and an alien arrived and disaster happened.   Wiggle Woggle was the alien’s name.  He came to the houses of the three giraffes and saw giraffe number 1.  Giraffe number 1 had made a house out of metal. Wiggle Woggle melted the metal and he put the giraffe in the oven!

But Wiggle Woggle said, “not enough fat giraffes to eat for my fat dinner.” So he went to Giraffe number 2’s house.  He made his house out of fanta bottles.  Wiggle Woggle kicked the fanta bottles and put the poor giraffe in the stew too, but he said, “not enough giraffes.  

So he went to Giraffe number 3’s house who believed in aliens.  He had made his house of glass and Wiggle Woggle blew the glass but a piece of glass chopped him all apart.  

Giraffe number 3 saved his brothers and they lived happily ever after. That was outstanding end.

This is my In The Beginning art.  My guardian was Tane. Tane is the Guardian of the forest.  I chose him because he was strong and the one who pushed his parents apart.

My Reading Reflection

I have been learning to summarise the main ides in the fiction text. We used a story pyramid to help us summarise Grandads dinosour. I found this easy: my next step is to write and type more stories more confidently.

I am learning to find halves, quarters, fifths and thirds of sets and shapes.

I know that I can do this when:

My Maths Reflection

I have been learning to find halves, quarters, thirds and fifths and shapes.  I am still learning to
do hard fractions like finding 6 sevenths. My next step is to keep working towards finding fraction of shapes.
